We commemorate our ancestors by wearing this T-Shirt, adorned with the image of Thomas Thistlewood - a notorious English planter who held various roles in colonial Jamaica as a plantation overseer, owner, and slave owner. His extensive diary serves as a significant historical evidence of the events that occurred during the 18th century, including the harsh reality of slavery, its mistreatment and the inhumane treatment of enslaved women through torture and rape. Thistlewood's use of brutal punishments such as flogging and other gruesome acts further demonstrates the severity of slavery during this period.
